The trusted relationships Wright Wool builds in the wool industry have their foundation in the example set by founder Philippa Wright’s father, Bryan, or B.D. as he was known, who ran a successful wool buying and wool classing business in Waimate, South Canterbury.

He had many adventures in the High Country with the many characters farming and working in the wool industry in the 1950s and 60s through to the 2000s when he retired at 75 years young. Even today, Bryan, now living in Napier, still pops into the wool stores to help out in his daughter’s business.

Here, Bryan recalls what he describes as a wonderful life working with wool.
